What is...? Earth's Special Forces - ESF What is ESF? ESF (ESForces.com) is a modification (mod) for the game Half-Life. It is based on the japanese Anime TV show "Dragonball Z". It offers outstanding graphics (compared to the Half-Life engine), lots of fast fights full of action, extreme powerfull (multiple) beam attacks and a really impressive melee fighting system. In ESF, you can choose from 9 different characters of the DBZ universe (learn more about the characters in the "Character" section of this site). Each one of the characters has its own pros and contras and its own attacks. One of the coolest things about ESF is, that you are flying most of the time, the smooth animations and the abilitie to transform into a second form of your character. Even if you don't like the Anime "Dragonball Z", you might like the mod, since its one of the most outstanding mods available out there. A Half-Life Mod? A Half-Life Mod is a modification (modification = mod) for the top award game Half-Life by Valve Software. A mod can be almost everything from just a small graphic replacement pack for the original game Half-Life to a complete "new" game (total conversion). The only requirement is an original copy of Half-Life to play Half-Life mods. Half-Life? You don't know Half-Life? I doubt your a gamer then if you don't know Half-Life... you don't even have to like Half-Life but everyone knows it ... at least since Counter-Strike, the most played (online) game (omg!?) is everywhere on TV and News when there is a discuss about violence in game again (as example -_-). Anyways ... Half-Life is the most selled computer game ever. It was released 1998 by Valve Software and it has still a very big and active community (there are more Half-Life (and its mods) players around the world then any other game has. Even if you summarize the players of every other online game, there are still more Half-Life players(!!!) You will need an original copy of Half-Life to be able to play ESF (or other mods). "Dragonball Z" is a japanese anime series based on the original series "Dragonball". It plays after Dragonballs ended when Son Goku and Chichi got married. Since Son Goku is now adult, the new series Dragonball Z is also aimed at a more "adult" target group. It is more violent then Dragonball and more aimed at fighting instead of "Gokus adventures".
